Moira Auchterlonie is the Primary Care Catalyst.

A strategic Health Sector Consultant, Moira has 25 years’ experience in primary care, patient-centred service development, medical innovation and education. 

​

Passionate about balancing the needs of patients, organisations and businesses alike, her ability to influence the delivery of healthcare systems and be the voice of the objective patient has made her an invaluable addition to multiple leading organisations, including NHS England, Health Education England, The Royal College of Radiologists, NAPC, the Practice Management Network and several global medical and marketing companies.

A specialist/generalist, she honed her skills working as the CEO of the Family Doctor Association (FDA), a leading national voice for GPs. As well as developing and delivering accredited educational programmes for over 3,000 frontline clinicians, she also organised over 500 successful networking and educational events during her tenure, including the UK’s first ‘And Baby Comes Too’.

An expert at generating innovative thinking that galvanises senior teams and drives agendas at speed, Moira’s extensive network and knowledge of clinical auditing, patient groups and the broader UK medical landscape make her a unique addition to any organisation. Able to wear a ‘patient governance hat’ and offer clinical perspectives to complex problem solving at board level, she also has the ability to balance patient governance, ethics, safety and continuity of care with business objectives and development.

My ethos and approach

 

Implementing change within any medical-based organisation can be incredibly difficult. Senior teams are under more pressure than ever to deliver effective solutions to increasingly demanding deadlines - and still do the day job.

That’s where I come in. Fastidiously prepared, genuinely collegiate and unafraid to ask the obvious questions, my common sense, pragmatic approach means you can rest assured that you always have an expert in your corner. Confident working with senior teams and individuals alike, I pride myself on being able to spark brave thinking that truly makes a difference, and support developments across health networks.

Able to work from strategy all the way through to implementation, I can build on the strategic big picture and also take the burden of delivery away from key players, ensuring great ideas turn into real actions. Using the wisdom and experience of many years in strategic leadership roles, I can act as a panel expert at meetings, provide senior thinking for NPD, aid in negotiations, write or assess sales presentations and white papers, plan educational programmes, organise well-attended networking events and more. I can also guide on how to ‘speak the right language’ so ideas are delivered in an impactful way and have a greater chance to success.
